Alfred Leslie 1927-2023

 A long life Al. He had success first as a second generation abstract artist but left it alone and started to do realism which he was also successful at. His most famous paintings were based on the death of Frank O'Hara on the beach at Water Island. No it wasn't fire island which the myth states. I spent a weekend in the early 70's at the house on water island where O'Hara died and also Albee wrote Virginia Woolf. The paintings of the death of O'Hara blew me away when I saw it at the Whitney maybe in a painting annual.
