Swedish Wooden Toys. Bard Graduate Center

 

I love toys, but who doesn't? This here is a nice show of toys from Sweden all made of wood from the 17th century to the early 21st. Nicely installed in one of those lovely but small renovated brownstones on the upper west side its cramped and crowded with over 300 examples of rare and beautiful toys and playthings including ships, planes, cars, doll houses, games and all sorts of animals all bright and colorful. I want them all. It was also nice that I was the only person in the whole place, so if you've seen the Stella, the Picasso, and all the rest of the big shows you might want to check this little gem out
