My own private Sukkah

Growing up as a kid in Brooklyn I was close friends with Heshie an Orthodox Jewish boy who lived in our apartment house on 12th avenue in Boro Park He loved Superman and he would come up to our apartment every week to watch the show on our tv. I was not religious but when Sukkah came around I got all excited because he would invite me to his family's Sukkah that his father built on the fire escape in the back of our buidling. I loved the little house with the straw roof and the smells, the color paper decorations and I have no doubt that I was influenced by this house building thing. Maybe some smart art historian or critic will in the future connect these dots.
